Been going to the Stable Inn since we moved to the area 17 years ago. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Good portions. Always great service. The best waitresses in town. Kid friendly.

I usually don't give 5 stars to restaurants but this one deserves it. While a bit off the beaten path it has great food, fantastically friendly staff and the prices are very reasonable.

Just around the corner from my favorite morning place the morning star cafe is this place. The place was well staffed, clean and service was great. The food was great too. I had the perch dinner. I am real picky about a good piece of fish and it was good. Great in fact. Came with a great salad, garlic mashed potatoes and a piece of garlic toast. First time I've been here and I will be back. ($18.95)

Good but not great food. We ate here because I had a taste for fish. The all you can eat whitefish was fresh and tasted good. This restaurant attracts an older clientele. Salad bar is very basic.

This place has the best best perch and prime rib in the area, not to mention the other menu items! I wouldn't eat these dishes anywhere else! The soup and salad bar, with chicken wings, are a nice touch with your meal. This is a place not to miss if you are in the area!

Stopped in on a Saturday evening for the first time with my family and was pleasantly surprised with the comfortable atmosphere. Loved the fireplace. From the outside it resembles a bar that didn't have much of a family atmosphere. However after my wife went in to check it out, she reported that it was a very much a family atmosphere. Salad bar was average I give it 3/5. It included wings and soup. I ordered the smelt. It smelt bad so I sent it back. The waitress was gracious and offered me another entrée. I chose the fried shrimp which ended up being very good. She mentioned that the cook threw out the entire batch of the smelt. From a customer perspective I was happy to hear that the cook would protect other customers from a bad experience. I took the time to fill out a survey card. I suggested they improve the salad bar with mixed greens, and remove the pate and soft cheese spread that looked like easy cheese. Perhaps adding some toasted nuts would class this salad bar up. There is a lot of room for little improvements on the menu. The staff was friendly and very nice. I will definitely be back with the family.

Service by our waitress was great. My husband wanted the all-you-can-eat whitefish and it came broiled or fried. At his request, she brought him both kinds so he could see what he liked better. My sirloin steak was flavorful and cooked to my liking although a larger-than-normal piece of it was fat. The half-foot hand-battered onion rings were very good. The soup and salad bar was nice too and was included with our dinner. It even had chicken wings. We left completely satisfied and plan to visit again.

I loved the food. The onion rings are to die for! I enjoyed the Best French dip ever. And they have a blue cheese dressing that tops all dressings! My boyfriend had the steak and he ate every bite and his meal came with the salad bar! The wings are so good . It was so tasty. The owner and his lovely wife were so friendly. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We will definitely be going back.

The last couple visits have been disappointing. Cold food, lack of service and our most recent trip there, my prime rib was over done andy husband's looked like they carved it with a spork.

I've been here a couple times before and never really had a great or a bad experience until last night. The only bright spot was our waitress. She was an excellent server. The food was horrible. My son and I had the variety shrimp plate and my wife and daughter had the chips and cheese. The scampi was basically a little butter with some popcorn seasoning salt with garlic. The chips and cheese were nasty. Very gloppy with the cheap cheese and the cheap meat which made the cheap chips very soggy. They only ate a quarter of it....together! We kept silent about the food. My advice for the waitress....take your skills elsewhere and make a lot more $. We will not be back.......ever.

Affordable, decent food. Onion rings were fabulous! Baked potato was perfect. Perch was a touch fishy. Service was slow, but we had over 10 people at our table.

Stopped for lunch and had great service. Comfortable/casual atmosphere. We sat in the bar area and ordered a turkey club and a "Stable" burger. Food was slightly above average. Big sandwiches!. The menu includes deep fried pickles and deep fried green beans. Will try those next time.

Went here after hearing about their fabulous Friday fish fry. They serve white fish which is either prepared baked or fried. I'd suggest fried but it's all you can eat so you mine as well try the baked. It lived up to it's hype. The batter is very light but crunchy and the baked I found appeasing as well. It's served with a little butter on top. You also get dibs on the all you can eat salad bar. Just a normal Michigan salad bar except they add hot wings to the mix. The wings are average at best. At one point during dinner an older man walked up to me and said you have nice hair and are good looking. He took me by surprise And I said, "what!". He then repeated himself. I then asked him if I knew him or if he knew me from somewhere. He then repeated it again, you have nice hair and are good looking. I then started looking around the table to get other peoples expressions and to think how I was going to handle this. Everyone around the table had wide eyes jaws dropped. The man then goes over to my friend and says the same thing and then leaves. 2 seconds later a waiter comes up and says sorry about that, this guys got dementia. I said, "I thought he was just the restaurants crowd pleaser." All in all we were there with 11 people in our party and everyone had a good time. Server was exceptionally good. Ex co-worker from vics. She migrated a few weeks ago. Fish fry was under 10 bucks. I give this place a Michigan high five and a, "You Betcha!"

Went here over a year ago because they had all you can eat prime rib. Decent cuts. Now skip to 3 months ago. Order it again. First piece comes out it looks like swiss cheese. The mashed was cold. We got sat under some dirty mouse that looked like it had not been cleaned since it was killed. Seriously cut it with the gimmicks and the ambiance I just want to eat. Next piece comes out and it was even worse it was over cooked to well done I ordered rare. It looked as if it was cut with a chainsaw. My daughter loved their salad bar till we went that night and the wings and hot legs they offered did not show up till 40 minutes after they where supposed to be on the salad bar and we all had eaten. Fix your stuff and you will get our money again.

It was OK food. Not the best ever, but definitely affordable and with a fairly good salad bar. Staff was very nice.

Service was great! Very friendly staff. Food was ok. My husband enjoyed the prime rib. I had the beer battered shrimp. Both were very large portions but the quality of the food wasn't very good.
